How to Download Instagram Data JSON to Check Unfollowers

To check who does not follow you back on Instagram, download your official Instagram data in JSON format. The files you need are followers_1.json and following.json.

Steps to download Instagram data

  1. Open Instagram and go to Settings and privacy.
  2. Select Accounts Center.
  3. Open Your information and permissions.
  4. Choose Download your information.
  5. Create a download request for the Instagram account you want to check.
  6. Choose Select types of information.
  7. Select only Followers and following.
  8. Choose JSON format, not HTML.
  9. Submit the request and wait until the download is ready.
  10. Download the ZIP file, extract it, and open the followers_and_following folder.
  11. Use followers_1.json and following.json in instalyze.

Why JSON format?

JSON is easier for analyzer apps to read. With the JSON files, instalyze can compare followers and following to show Instagram unfollowers, people you do not follow back, and mutual followers.

Is it private?

instalyze processes selected files locally in your browser. Your Instagram JSON files are not uploaded to a server, so your followers and following data stay on your device.
